School-Related Resources

We offer a wide range of services to help youth, their families, and professionals in school settings. Families benefit from better understanding the school process.  Educators often benefit from consultation for classroom practices or strategies to assist with an individual child. Because children spend so much of their time in school settings, it is important for professionals and families to work collaboratively to provide the youth with the best possible outcomes.

The Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders collaborates with Chapman University's College of Educational Studies for the F.A.S.T. program. This program helps families, schools, and community service providers to collaborate with one another in order to build an effective, high-quality learning plan for each individual child.

Who We Are:

The F.A.S.T. Team is a dynamic group of faculty members and Graduate Students from Chapman University's College of Educational Studies with skills in the areas (but not limited to):

Success In Special Education (SpEd)

This series is centered on helping families become active knowledgeable IEP team members with a focus on collaboratively working with schools.

Current patients of the center may be referred for this service through their medical provider. Once referred, parents/caregivers are required to enroll in on of our informational workshops before working individually with our professionals. After attending this initial workshop, some families may benefit from an individualized educational consultation. Our professional will work with collaboratively with you and your child's school system to maximize outcomes for the child.

The Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders and the FAST team provide a variety of educational consultation and training with our team of school psychologists and other school-based professionals, including behavioral specialists. We work collaboratively with schools in a number of areas, including helping to enhance their special education services, tips on classroom management, or consultation around an individual student/family. We also arrange contracts for services for one-time consultation, individualized school workshops, or for ongoing consultation on an annual basis.
